The Rochester Police Department is the principal law enforcement agency in Rochester, Minnesota and serves a population of over 115,000 residents. With over 115 sworn officers and 65 non-sworn members, the Rochester Police Department were in search of a better way to train their staff and personnel.

The Rochester Police Department conducted significant research on the various simulators and training options available, and chose to implement Apex Officer's VR training simulator as a core component of their training program. Rochester PD is leading the way in progressive police training in the state of Minnesota.

The Apex Officer training system is a game changer. In a recent interview, KPD Sergeant Paul Gronholz said the "simulator allows officers to learn valuable lessons without real-world consequences. They'll fail forward, they'll learn what not to do." RPD says in the future, they would like the high-tech training equipment to be a regional asset officers across Southeast Minnesota could use to train.
