The Dakota County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) is a law enforcement agency serving Dakota County, Minnesota. Dakota County has grown to be the third most heavily populated county in the state, following Hennepin and Ramsey counties. It is the fastest growing county (numerically) in the State of Minnesota. The Dakota County Sheriff's Office has grown to include nearly 200 employees. In an effort to improve the training and development of its deputies, the DCSO has implemented the use of Apex Officer's VR simulator as a key part of its training program for their deputies.

After reviewing numerous training simulators, Dakota County Sheriff's Office decided to purchase the Apex Officer X2 training simulator and implement it into their training program. One of the main benefits of using Apex Officer's VR simulator for training is that it provides a safe and controlled environment for deputies to practice and make mistakes. This is especially important for high-stakes scenarios like active shooter situations, where the consequences of mistakes can be severe. By using VR, the DCSO is able to give its deputies the opportunity to experience these types of scenarios without risking harm to themselves or others.

The VR simulator has been well received by the deputies at the DCSO, who have found it to be a valuable addition to their training.
